The latest version of Chicago isn't up there yet. The only one there is 5.1, sorry. As for uploading the set, I'm sure it would be appreciated! Let me know if you'd like to upload.

Also, what sort of car do you drive?

The latest version up of Chicagoland is 5.1. Also, if you've not updated the software in the Q, you may want to do so. You should be able to borrow a copy of the software from a dealership. Just ask them to borrow a copy of the software CD for 2001 Pathfinders and they should be able to help you out (hopefully for free). I've seen problems with Q45s / Pathfinders older than 2002 that haven't had the updated software installed not wanting to use any discs newer than version 5.0.

Hi there,

I real need your help!!!

I bought a Nissan Pathfinder 2001 which is imported from the USA, I'm from the UAE, and it has a navigation system but it dosn't have the cd for the navigation system. Also, in the screen it gave me some messages which are :- "Don't change the key position" "Don't take out the disk" and then it gave me "Time out" and after that it start again. What can I do now?
I don't want use the map because there will be no information for my country in the map, I want to use the AC controller!!! could you please let me download any one of these CDs just it could fix the problem?
or do you know any other way to fix it???

The first thing I would do is to make sure it doesn't have a disc in the slot already. If it DOES have a disc, TAKE IT OUT. The AC part of the unit doesn't need the disc to work. If it does have a disc in, it could very well be so far out of what it is expecting to see, it is screwing up the system.

I haven't seen these error messages before. It could be that the Nav system itself is screwed up... I honestly don't think that any CDs will help you since the AC doesn't use the Nav portion, just the screen.

Anyone else????

Thanks for your reply Mr Barc.

No, it doesn't have any CD in it, but when I put a music cd it gave me "Replace the with program cd" !!!

Really, after the "Time out" message appear, the NAV system will restart and when it restarted the screen will show the logo of Nissan and in the front of it a message say something like "No map cd" and at the right side of the screen the AC controls is appearing for about 2 seconds and the other two messages is appearing, at that two seconds I can change the parameters of the AC!!!
Thank you again Mr Barc.

You should be able to go into the settings and change it so that the AC controls are always displayed. Have you looked in the manual to see if you can do that? The AC controls are only displayed when you press any of the AC control buttons if you have it setup that way.

I can't go to any setting and can't do anything when the messages appear.

Is there any programing CD to be install?

Could you please let me download any CD, just to see if it can solve the problem?

You can try downloading to see if it will solve the problem. Please post up your email since I can't send you a PM until you get 15 posts (that's the rules of this forum) and I'll send you some info.

You may need a program CD to reload the navigation software not a map CD. I leave the map CD out of my nav system sometimes and it keeps the AC/climate screen displayed. There are program CDs that the Nissan dealers have that can load or update the software on the nav system. If it turns out that you have a bad nav system you may want to try to find one used (ebay) because they are very expensive from the Nissan dealer.

I am on the same boat, don't want to clutter forum with 15 entries . . .

Greetings.
I am late to the game as well.

Any chance that someone could send an e-mail to me at fhsu1@cox.net and let me know how to download the couple of files?

Have a nice day.

Thanks,

Irvine, California

Hey Barc,
I've downloaded a few regions and they all worked very well.
I'm going to keep the discs in my safe for backup purposes.
The ftp site is still missing MCA3 and MCA6.
Does anyone have them and can they be uploaded to the site?
Thanks,

Cesar

All,

I apologize for being late in replying. I've been on business travel for a while without a PC.

Vivendi,

If you'll put your email address up, I'll send you the info. I think we've discussed this before now but I honestly can't remember. What do you drive, by the way?

No word on the updated Nav software.

willy,

PM sent.

Barc,

I was among the first (I don't know how honestly I could say [i]first[i]) to touch base with you on getting the CD's passed around in some manner. Shortly thereafter my laptop bit teh dust, and a few weeks after that (while waiting for replacement), I was put in the hospital.

FYI: 2002 SE, auto, stock.. but I keep it clean.

Drop me a line.. ravenous_r1@yahoo.com ...

I just purchased a 2001 QX4. It came with a navigation cd MCA 8 since I live in the D.C. area. I am posting this because I am driving to my parent’s house in Chicago for Christmas and would like to have the navigation system help me with my trip.
Can I get instruction on how to download the regions I need to make it home?

You can price one all you want, but good luck getting one. It was going to take them 2 to 3 months to get me the one I wanted. Besides, I got a really good deal. I paid less than invoice. That is what I will pay after interest and stuff after 5 years.

I would have waited the 2-3 months, at least it wouldn't look like the 5 million other G's that are already out there. whatever, as long as you are happy.
