Those CDs should work. The one that works is the largest iso file. I don't think any of the rar files work. Try the one on the first page you get to... it is v5.3, though (599MB).

Do you want me to just blow those .rar files away? When you guys get around to the group buy, I will host those ISO files for you again, no problem. However, due to limited HD space on the server, I will have to remove the old files, perhaps.

I am working on getting a larger HD for that server. But, due to tight financial situation at the moment (Paying for college, and 4k a year for insurance [No, I don't have any tickets or accidents, I have my own policy and my car takes trips to boston occasionally, therefore I need full insurance]) I might not be able to. I need a new laptop for school this year as well. However, I will try my best to help you all out.

I had problems with the MCA8v5.5 as well. I don't think it was the disk.
If the original uploader could reload an .iso image it would be better, I think.

First of all, thanks for setting up the space for Barry and all of us.
You can get rid of all the cdrom.dat files in the individual folders and any .iso's that have a similar region and vers in the same directory but that are smaller. Those are ones I had trouble uploading (kept getting kicked out).

Thanks again for providing a spot for us.

Infiniteecho - thanks again for hosting the FTP site.

Barc/Sodaboy/Shaydz -- I'm in the process of uploading MCA8 v5.5. It is taking a while...hopefully it won't crap out on me.

If it does, I'll try again tomorrow.

Pete

That's great Maxfli! Thanks! BTW, you're the 4th person I've heard of that has an all optioned out 6-speed... Did your car happen to come out of TN?

OK, back on subject...

I know that the 8v5.3 599MB file works if you use the iso burner that is posted there. And yes, it will create one huge dat file on the disc HOWEVER the dat file isn't the only thing on the disc so don't try to open the iso and just copy that; it will not work. You must use software to transfer the image of the disc (the iso file) to a disc, i.e. you must tell the software to burn the entire iso file.

There is a loader that's on the disc that isn't visible... it is the same thing that's on a lot of software nowadays to keep you from just transfering the files to your HDD and making a program (think games and the like) work without the disc in the drive. I could go into a lot more detail but there really isn't any point. Just know that if you open the iso like a zip or rar file and copy what's there to a disc, it will not work.

I've DLed a few of those files and, after figuring out what was happening, they all have worked save the incomplete ones. If you're having trouble, please PM me or let me know. I'll try to walk you through the process. No problems!

Thanks guys!

Barc - My car was from Virginia around Richmond. I bought it less than a month ago and it is now in Raleigh. I had been looking for a "well taken care of" 6spd for over 2 years. This one popped up and I grabbed it...I wasn't necessarily looking for one with everything but it happened to be loaded and I'm not complaining about it!!

Now back to topic...
The MCA9v55.iso file on the FTP site works too. I used the MagicISO program to burn a CD and it worked like a charm. For you downloaders, install MagicISO and on the "tools" dropdown menu, select "Burn CD/DVD with ISO", point it to the .ISO file you downloaded, drop a blank CD-R in your burner, select your "Burn Speed" and hit "Burn It". It's that simple.

MCA8v55.iso should work since I used MagicISO to create it. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll redo it.

From the administrative side, we need to delete some of the older MCA versions on the FTP site and save infiniteecho some server space. I tried last night to delete some of the older versions but I did not have rights to delete.

Good luck and thanks again infiniteecho for providing the hosting space!

I have let infiniteecho know the files to delete. He is EXTREMELY busy with his class schedule right now so it might take some time. Someone in RI take the poor guy out to a club or something. And I agree, MagicISO is a great, small program for ripping and burning... that's why I put it there.

Maxfli, I'm pretty sure I know where your car came from before you got it. If you ever decide to do a VIN check on it, see if it was originally purchased in the Knoxville, TN area. The one I am thinking of is the exact twin to your car and the guy was looking to sell it about 3 - 4 months ago... Richmond isn't far from Knoxville (I40 to I81 to I64 if memory serves). Mine originally came out of Maryland, then to NC where I had it shipped, then to AR where it sits now. I guess I got lucky; only 6 months of searching, but it wasn't my chosen color.

Ok, back to the Navigation Back-Ups!

If you have any trouble, let me know!

Thanks!

Barc -- I had a Carfax run before purchasing it and it said it has always been a Virginia car. There are probably a few more fully optioned 6spds...although they are hard to find. This was the first one in 2+ years of looking that I had ever seen with all options included.

Wow, two optioned fully within a few hours of each other! And I've only heard of a few other 03s!

Is everyone doing alright with the DLing and buring and etc?

Haha, I have taken care of the extra files. Actually, I did that about 2 weeks ago. I just haven't had time to let anyone know or post on the org. I'm glad you guys are getting some use out of this. It makes the time I put into it that much more worth it.

I'm not actually in RI anymore. Since I go to school in Boston, I am never home. I used to take trips home spring semester of last year to "go see my girlfriend" but, I was just going home to drive my Maxima which I just purchased in March. I have every option BUT navigation ... Ironic that I am the one hosting the files?

Anyway, like always, any questions feel free to let myself or Barc know what's up. PM him first since he'll be more likely to respond in a more timely manner than I will.

Sorry for the delay to anyone. I've been having computer "issues." HDD crashed about a week before the entire mobo took a giant crap so I'm sort of computerless at the moment... even the network at work isn't working properly!

Ruski, I've emailed you some info.

Thanks all!

I apologize! I tried emailing you right after I got your email but adelphia kept rejecting it and returning it to me. I don't know if it was on my side or yours, though.
