Oh well, that is unfortunate. I was hoping that it would just be plug and pray. But, that would be way too easy.

I guess it doesn't matter anyway. I plan on moving out of this country when I graduate from college (2 years to go) and I wouldn't have any money to "invest" into my car until then anyway seeing as I just spent a good amount of money buying it.

I'd have to look for the navi CDs for Australia.

I have a spare nav and Bose unit that I got off of ebay for $400. I am keeping it in case anything goes bad with my original unit. The part lists for over $3K from the dealer. Built in Nav systems are very nice but if your car doesn't have it I would not try to retrofit it. Get something like the Garmin i5. It does not need to be pluged in and it is small enough to be mounted almost anywhere.

I have a pretty good sense of direction, I don't really need it. Just one of those things it would be fun to have and use now and again. I don't like having extra stuff mounted in my car.... It's bad, I take my radar detector down everytime I turn it off.

I would rather have it in my dash all OEM, or not at all. I am a weirdo.

I guess it was more a hypothetical question / thinking aloud via the keyboard.

I didn't think I needed a nav system until I got a good deal on the only 6spd max that I could find and it had the factory navigation. You can always find your destination without it. It's just quicker and more direct with it.

Thanks for the FTP site and storage.

Some are in process of being uploaded. We still need most folks to upload before we can let the DLing begin.

Everyone, we still need several regions. If you can help, please post here.

I can post my version 5.0 region 1 if nobody has a newer version. I'll keep an eye on the site to see what's up over the next couple days.

We can use it on the upload site. I'll PM you with the info.

We are still looking for version 5.5 of the following:

MCA 1

MCA 2
MCA 3
MCA 4
MCA 5
MCA 8

Please let me know if interested. We've had a lot of response but not a lot of action.

If there is enough interest, we may have to do a group buy / buy all of the regions at once on all the newest software and spread the cost out over everyone involved. Let me know if you're interested in doing that! It may not be free but it will save money if you're trying to get all of the regions (or possibly save money even if you only want 1 if we can get enough numbers).

I'd be willing to pay upto $50 for all the CD's ... Even though I really only want MCA5 I might just buy it

You've got PM.

$50 for all the CDs would be a nice target imo.

9 regions @ $120 / each = $1080!

So if we could get about 22 folks, it would be about $50 each for all the regions.

Zenrin has discounts if you buy more than 3 CDs so it would be even less. Maybe in the fall when 5.6 comes out we should put together a group buy. I'm in.

Does anyone else want to participate in this? Let me know.

Just did a little research. To get all 9 regions (new) is $738.83. That's about $82 each as opposed to $120. The discount at even 3 discs brings it down to about $100 each. Food for thought.

I wouldn't mind jumping in the GD during the fall...its only 3 months away till the release...we can get everybody to jump in and get a discount..

Only the 02 and 03's came with Nav. I'm not sure they were available for Canada but I could be wrong.

Yes, if you want to try and attempt a retro. It would be easier, faster, and more cost effective to buy and aftermarket system. It's not just plug and play is what I am trying to say.

I already asked this, and was dissapointed in the answer I was given.
