I didn't feel like reading through this entire thread. But I will host all of the files for everyone. I have plenty of bandwidth and storage to spare on my hosting account.
OK guys I have the first one hosted. It appears you have a collection of raw ISO files which wastes a lot of space and bandwidth. I used 7zip and got the first file down to 16% of it's original size. Now I need someone with NAV to PM me for a test download and install. We just need ot make sure everything is working before I go through them all.
Also, just so folks will know, SR20DEN has figured out that you can actually zip the files up and save about 3 to 5 times the amount of time uploading the files (and, in turn, downloading them)! Anyway, anyone that can help get the newer versions of the MCAs, please let me know. Thanks!
hey guys I have a 2001 Infiniti I30 which came with a really old navigation disc and I was wondering if you guys still had the ftp up for the nav discs. I dont know if you guys need it or not but I can upload the Program CD-ROM for Infiniti Navigation System
We appear to have the following collection right now
So these are on the ftp site? Or a new place? (at work and can't check right now).
I'm also wondering, if Zenrin releases a 5.7 update in November 2007 as they are rumored to do... What are you all interested in doing? I suspect if they are hosted for free like this, no one is going to want to be the chump to buy them so everyone else can get it free. But if you got 10-20 people or so to go in on the set, it'd be a lot cheaper per person, maybe ~$50 or so. I suppose you could even set per-disc rates at maybe $10-20 per region for people who don't want the whole thing. Of course if they then just show up weeks later for free as .iso files, no one will want to pay, again leaving someone holding the bag.
Thoughts?
Personally I'd love to have 2007 versions (assuming they are produced). I think the GPS is great, I love the interface even in comparison to newer units. Though I'm not sure I want to spend $120 and up on maps...
I have been giving these out a lot lately and NO one seems to have anything to add to or improve the collection.
From now on, I will not distribute the link to anyone that doesn't first tell me what they have or don't have to contribute.
Tell me what you guys have and I will PM you the link.
Also, please tell me what vehicle this will be going in, because if you have the wrong vehicle there is no point in me providing you the link. However if those with newer vehicles want to participate, I will host the newer DVDs as well if someone can get them to me.
I've been out of town (& state & country) for a few weeks now. Apologies. I don't have any planned excursions for the next month so hopefully I can help out once more.
SR20DEN is really helping out on this in a big way and a huge "thanks" should go out his way. Thanks!
If you have uploaded in the past, please let me (or SR20DEN) know. We wouldn't be where we are without those uploads!
Crazy there isn't the newest one considering that Region 1 is probably the most populous of all the regions. Perhaps folks from the SW don't share. My Maxima is too old I guess if I'm excited to get 5.3. :P
You can try them all and it shouldn't hurt but I'd try the one with the highest number first (WXC42031). Also, you can try calling Zenrin to see what they have to say.

looking for the new ftp info but don't want to clutter board
Hey guys,
Looking back, it seems like the forum would be cluttered by me posting 15 times to be able to send PM's, in order to PM Barc and ask for the ftp info. I don't want to fill the forum with one line posts that aren't of value to anyone. And I can't e-mail through the forum (at least Barc's e-mail is not available to me). Any chance that someone could fire off an e-mail to me at btubb@yahoo.com and let me know the new ftp download info? Like I said before (back on page 8 of the posts), I would love to send in some gift cards or whatever to the folks who have put in the effort here. I certainly offer to upload the disk that we have from our 2002 Pathfinder, though I see you guys already have a newer one. I appreciate you guys being so organized about this project.
That was my thought.... I guess I'll have to get 5.5 and call it day on my Max's navigation system. They still have not stated how they plan to deliver the updates for the hard disk based nav in my G35.
Hey guys, I've posted here before. Can you please send me the info on the new server? My email is cperez_njbus@msn.com.
I have MCA7 V5.1. I'm sure that V5.5 is already uploaded.
Thanks
