brusk, we have most of the regions there now, just not all of the latest ones. As for replacing the head unit, I would think it should be possible so long as it had inputs from multiple sources (CD player, Nav unit, etc) but I am not sure.

Bob, 4 is up there. I'll try to shoot you something this evening.

If anyone lives in the Southeast, I have the latest version (5.5) of MCA9. I can send you a functional copy of firmware update and map software cheap. PM me if interested.

Hi, Barc. Thanks for sending over the login. I do have a question, though:

I only see three iso files on the FTP server. One is MCA9v5.5, the second is the Nissan Nav program image and the third is MCA4v5.5. However, the MCA4 iso is only 220MB in size. Can this be correct? The MCA9 iso is almost 600MB.

Also, the other images appear as directories, but when I click on them, it won't let me download anything.

Please advise.

Bob: Strange that they won't download. What FTP client are you using? And, are you using passive mode? It could be several things... I'll look into it.

The smaller files definately do not work. I think the smallest is still well over 400 MB.

Steven: I haven't seen 1 v5.5 up there. If anyone has it, please upload it or let me know that you need access...

I'm using FileZilla in Passive mode. When I click on the directories, nothing happens.

OK, I just tried logging in from my web browser and am able to access the directories. Not sure why I couldn't do it from FileZilla.

So, it looks like the most up-to-date version for MCA4 is 5.1. Is that correct? Does anyone have 5.5? I have acquired 5.4, so I'll try to upload that.

Thanks!

OK. MCA4 v5.4 has successfully been uploaded to the server. Please note that this was ripped using Nero and is in .NRG format. However, it is confirmed as working. You should be able to use MagicISO to convert it to ISO format, if you don't have Nero.

I'm still looking for MCA4 v5.5. If anyone has it, I would appreciate them uploading it.

One more question: what is the Nissan Program.iso file? When should this be used? Is it some sort of upgrade for the Nav system and, if so, how can I tell if I need it?

The Nissan Program iso was supposed to help those folks with older nav systems. For whatever reason, it doesn't work, though. You shouldn't need it if you can run MCA's older than version 5.1.

Thanks for uploading that iso! I'll be DLing it tonight.

No prob, Barc. I also have MCA9 v5.5, but I'm thinking about holding on to that one as a bargaining chip!

How about it? Anyone interested in trading MCA4 v5.5 for MCA9 v5.5?

I'll try and get you some info today. The 03 Q's shouldn't need any sort of updating so the discs should work for you.

I'm thinking that myself given the fact that they didn't produce a 5.6 last year and then said it would be out this year... and that DVD's probably make them a lot more money now.

johnny, I'll try and send you something tonight. You may need to get the update software from the dealership or from Zenrin (I think its free from them) before you can use the discs.

maximizd, you've got PM.

Hey Barc, I can't seem to PM you? Maybe it's an account restriction because I just created the account. Anyway, you can email me at aurora402002 at yahoo.com

I have an '02 Oldsmobile Aurora with factory nav. It also uses the Zenrin map CDs. I have .iso files of most of the regions, though most are v5.1, and the 5.5 ones I have it sounds like you might have as well. Still, I'd love access to see if you have anything I don't, or vice-versa.

I have heard rumors of Zenrin releasing new CDs in November, but who knows...

I'll shoot you something tonight. The discs should work. Another Aurora owner used them and they worked out for him. BTW, you can't PM until you have 15 posts.

EDIT:
You should have an email.

Thanks! Looks like you have a disc 4 I don't, and I have the 5.3 version of disc 1 I'll add. It's incredibly slow though, like 70KB/s... Is that normal? I have fiber to the house so it's likely not me.

That's about the top speed. It isn't on a high bandwidth server due to cost concerns. However, patience is rewarded in this case! Do you happen to have the NE region (MCA 7), any version?

Yes, I have 5.1 of region 7. But it looks like you do too.

Edit: oh no you don't, just the folder. I'm uploading it and region 1 5.3 version

Thanks for the uploads, aurora!

Charlotter, we have a higher version of 4. I'm almost positive we have 5.5 of either 8 or 9 and 5.3 of either 8 or 9 (sorry, can't remember which is which at the moment). I need your email address so I can send you the info!

EDIT:

Charlotter, I found your email address in a previous post. I'll shoot you something momentarily.

Just a reminder to everyone who is uploading. Remember to make an iso out of the ENTIRE disc, not just the file that's on it. For whatever reason (probably due to the boot rom that's on it), the disc MUST be copied and not just the file on it. Thanks!
