Painted '00 Headlights Pics
#10
hey man I live in rochester. Would you want to give me a had doing this? I'm tempted to try it myself but if I screwed up a headlight, i'd be out a headlight. It would be nice to have someone who has done it before to help out.

No worry the mod is very easy just search for write ups there a hundreds. I have done it myself it seems like a big and iffy job but it is really easy no need to be scared of it. Just search one recommend I will make is instead of rubbing use duplicolor glossy black engine enamel it matches the grill perfectly in 00-01 and gives a nice gloss. Also a pro is since it is engine enamel you know it will alst and you wont have to redo the project for any reason.

Prob is, I get it when I run people over...
Don't let it go for long, it gets hard to clean off after a few days... That and the cops start to ask questions.

I tried following studmans tutorial I found it worked better just with out wrapping the headlight in a towel, I just set the light on the moist towel.

I painted the corners on mine as well. Duplicolor engnine enamel stickes very well to anything. I would use the glossy black color. I also used paint promotor before the black coats (3 light ones). I was scared that painting the corners would screw up the output but it is fine both in daytime and night time. Plus cant see the ugly yellow bulb.

Also those worried about output should not be worried, the corners light up and are visible in bright daylight when indicating.
