Most of the time I have the volume set to very low or almost silent (no audible alert) but not silent dark. I rarely have to use the mute button.
You still have a good idea, I was just wondering why you were hiding the remote (you answered my question).

I've had this done for a couple of years now. I don't like driving other peoples car because of not having my Passport.
I have my remote mounted where your radar is Epacy, and the radar is mounted on top of my clock. My power source is from the sunroof controls.
