So every now and again, i would use the remote to unlock all the doors so that my passengers could get in. The other day, i unlocked it like usual but when my friend tried to close the door, i heard a horrifying thud and the door flew back open. I checked the door and noticed that the lock was not in the correct position. After fidling around for a good half hour, i finally got a coat hangar and pressed down on the white piece in there and the lock finally went back to normal. Does anyone else have this problem and if so why does it happen and how can i fix it.

Have you tried simply putting some WD-40 on it?
Oiling should be part of regular maintenance.
