A question for people with Nissan service agreements.

I just bought an '02 Maxima from a private owner. While cleaning out the glovebox last night I came across a book entitled Nissan service agreement. In it, it stated that the car had a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty, and that it was covered with the Security Plus - Gold coverage. I assumed the previous owner had forgotten to tell me about this so I gave him a call. Even though he was the original owner and bought the car new, he couldn't remember if he bought the extended warranty for it.

I would assume the car is covered though as the book has a policy number as well as the VIN for the car on it. Do you get this book only if you've paid for the contract, or does Nissan send these books out as a way to entice you to get an extended warranty? I've already e-mailed Nissan but I won't hear from them until tomorrow and the anticipation is killing me!

if you have that book, then you DO HAVE an extended warranty with ur maxima. i would call any dealer to verify the exent of coverage but i am almost POSITIVE that you do have extended coverage as i do myself.

Sweet!!! I just got a call back from Nissan today. The car DOES have a 6 year, 100,000 mile factory service contract! I still can't believe the previous owner can't remember even buying it.

If you look in the front of the book it will list the exact date and milage that the warranty expires. At least mine does and I have the Security-Plus also.
