you can use alcohol on the rubber portion. most new wipers/blades come with an alcohol pad.

Hey, are u tryin to clean your wipers cuz they streak? If so, just invest in some new blades....I bought some Michelin wipers at walmart for like $11 for both sides...they work great!

If it's for other reasons, then ignore my post

Oic...well u can always invest in new blades...its cheaper than I thought...I walked into walmart and saw they were only like $5 a pop...its not just refills either, its the whole assembly....I'm sure these will last for quite awhile...I mean Michelins do make one of the best tires out there....haha

My last set came with a pad as well. Keeps the edge clean, and dry(at the moment in order to keep it minimal of dust and debris)

I would be careful with rubber parts/mouldings as alcohol makes untreated rubber swell up

You can invest in some nice wiper blades like piaa. Mine have lasted for about 2 years without any problems. I've been up in canada a lot too in the snow and ice and no problems. Still cleans the windows like they were new.

Yes, 70 or 90% rubbing alcohol is safe to use on the body/paint. It's is actually perfect for cleaning bird poo.

I always thought that alcohol tends to dry out rubber and eventually crack it.

I had used Armorall (or whatever the spelling) to clean them and protect them from elements... It works well when sprayed on a cloth or paper towel and wiped a few times along the edge... Alcohol may dry them, but then again the windshield washer fluid is full of it...
