HID conversion for 2k-2k1
Hi MODs sorry for posting it but couldn't find any information on this.
1. I tried how-to section.
2. I tried use poor guy search.
3. I tried to contact "First Guy who did this" (to bad no longer owns max)
4. I tried to contact some other members w/converted light but they haven't write-up as well.
The only inf i know for right now is that i have to buy 5.5gen harness.
I also found Dr. Roy wiring diagram but still need an write-up. Just want to follow the path # of people went during conversion. I'd apreciate if someone post the copy of that write-up.

Are you trying to install the 2k2 OEM HIDs in your 2K1 or trying to convert your halogens to HIDs using a retrofit or kit? If you're trying to do the first option you won't be able to find a write up unless you have proof of purchase and someone from the ORG can validate it. This is due to the theft issues with the 2k2 OEM Hids.

OK I actually haven't bought them yet. But i'm sure i can find someone local to validate the proof of purchase. Who should Iask once i get them?

Occasionally you'll find them for sale on the ORG. You're only other options are to look to courtesyparts.com for the OEMs or ebay for the OEM replicas. If you don't want to go that route you can get a Helios HID kit. There's a groupdeal going on right now for them. They're basically plug and play. Just have to replace the stock halogen bulb with the HID bulb and mount the ballasts. Then you can also talk to Dr Roy about retrofitting. It all depends how much you want to spend.
If you purchase the OEM HIDs I think you'll need to show a pic of the receipt/proof of purchase or you can have someone from the ORG who is local to you validate your purchase.

I saw a Max today w/o both HID's..... it is making me wonder.. HUmmm should I take mines out and put the halogen back......???? When you get yours PM me a photo and I will send you the write up......
