Question to those with HID fogs

I just installed a set of fogs in my '03. I had to bend the shield inside the fog housing to install the bulbs. Should I be taking that shield off or leave that shield on?

Does your fog light seem to get to get the lense extremely hot? Also, the way my bulbs are put in, the bar on the bulb is sideways. Should I be making it so the metal piece is on the bottom?

i pushed mine in,, i dont think you can take them out unless you bake the foglights and take them apart

Any ideas about the bulb itself? I know in the headlights, the metal bar is at the bottom of the light. In my fogs, the bar is on the sides....any suggestions?

That bar is there to reduce glare (from what ive heard). I would put it towards the bottom since there already is some cover on the bottom from the reflector.

I didnt have this problem when installing my HID fogs, which size bulbs are the ones you used? H3 Micros here
