What kind of hosing are you using? If you're using the aluminum exhaust piping found at hardware stores you can bend it to make its way down to the splash guard.

Be sure to remove the L pipe from your resonator.

Take a look at the pics on my site. Mine was able to go straight down. The tubing is 3" in diameter.

Agreed. I used 2.5" shop vac hose and it went straight down to the splash guard. With the L-bracket out, there shouldn't be anything in the way. If there is, take a picture and post it here. We'll try to figure out what your problem is.

There are a lot of different opinions on how to orient the open end of the tube. I keep mine inside the splash guard to prevent the OSCAI from sucking up airborne matter. Others mount it under the splash guard with a scoop that points forward for a ram air effect. Take your pick.

I poked mine through the splash guard so that my car can perform two functions. One, get me to work and back a little quicker and two, to sweep the streets! It also works good at sucking up small rodents! Mmmmmmmmm, Lunch!
