where does pr cai suck air?
I was just wondering, how does the air get into the fender well? I know there is a small hole on the bottom of the well, there is also an opening on the side into the engine bay. The fender in all is not airtight, so it does let in air, but does it let in enough? I mean is it enough the 3" pipe to suck freely? Could it be that the fender is a restriction?

Even if it or isn't, it's minimal if anything .... None of us have been so bored or had the extra cash around to perform a bench flow test comparing the PR CAI and others. Another point to consider, when driving at highway speeds there's enough air flowing in and around the fitler ...

Why would there be more air at highway speeds, if the filter is not exposed directly to the outside air? or is it?

There's enough air circulating around in the fender well.
It always peels my fender shroud back because I'm ghetto and have it zip-tied since I lost all the snap bolts.
But as I stated earlier, it's minimal, whether gains or losses, and really not worth discussion, that's IMO, unless you're a racing buff, then jimes/Aarons92se method is good...
