Last I checked I didn't think Borla made an exhaust for a 5th Gen Max. I could be wrong though.

At least according to their website when you put in 2003 Nissan Maxima SE they dont list any 'parts' for the car. From looking at their site if it wasnt custom fit to a Maxima, you'd probably have some Fitment Issues.

I have the Flowmaster 80 Series muffler, sounds pretty good. i would think it would be close to a Borla sound

no borla does not make an exhaust for maximas but you can have a custom one built. i would stay away from borla, they use clamps to connect there pipes... which i would assume would be more prone to exhaust leaks

I actually DO have a Borla XS Exhaust (just the exhaust can) on my 2000 Maxima. Had to have the piping custom made and fited but it sounds awsome. I love the sound of it, really makes the car sound deep and throaty. I put a magnawflow tip on it as well just because it looks better with it.
I would say put it on your car if you can. I dont know which one you have but the Borla XS is great!

At least its not 1 single fart pipe like I've seen before. This argument turns into a rice war! Just try it out if you dont like it change it! Screw what everyone else thinks. To me it looks like my stock muffler and tips on my GLE except Borla has the trick fins in the recess of the pipes. I like. As long as its not over bearing and obviously aftermarket looking. I personnaly prefer the subtle sleeper look My .02
