installing my illuminas soon..whats the best setting?

hey guys im going to install illuminas next week and i was wondering what i should set them too..i tried to do a poor mans search but couldn't find anything.

i saw some people had 3 f and 4 r but i also seen 4 f and 3 r..whats the best setting to have it on..for a comfortable ride but pretty sporty as well..i was thinking maybe 4 all around but i dont know if that will be too stiff..and if its bad to have it the same in the front and rear..just need some opinions and advice
thanks

The best setting is the setting that YOU like the best, not what everyone else has. The whole point of having adjustable shocks/struts is so that ya can adjust it to how ya like it and to what's best for your purposes.

I have Progress/Illuminas and I have it 4F 3R right now and its nice and firm, but still comfortable to ME. I'm sure some might say that its too harsh of a ride, I personally found 4F 4R on the harsh side. 3F 3R was nice but I wanted to front firmer. I'm actually gonna drop it down to 2F 2R this weekend just to see how it feels, although I know its gonna be too soft already, but ya gotta try it once right?

Anyways, the settings also depend on what springs ya have. Lower springs might require stiffer settings to match the damping of the struts to the springs. Additionally, your driving style may require stiffer settings, esp if ya like to weave around and take those quick curves. Just play around with it until you find something that you like.

No, 1 is softest 5 is firmest. The setting depends upon which springs you have. If you have stiff springs you will want your Illumina's on a firm setting.

I have mine at 3 all around is the ride is pretty close to perfect. I did the 4f/3r, 3f/4r, 2 all the way around and 4 at all corners also and I found that the car handled a bit funny when the settings were not all the same. None of the staggered settings felt as balanced as having it the same at all corners.

By the way, I have a Stillen Rear sway bar and a set of subframe connectors.
