Sunroof

About a week ago i put an intake on my car, 2002 SE, and the MAF blew. So while working on it someone said to try and unhook the car battery and then reconnect it and see if it helped. But i needed a new MAF, so after replacing it the sunroof doesnt work like it used to... Before it would close on its own after the car turned off like i would assume all of them do. Now it doesnt close on its own. Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks

Mine has never closed on its own either...

Btw, did you try the reset procedure listed in your owners manual? Page 2-29.

Restarting the sunroof sliding switch

The sliding switch will become inoperable after
the battery terminal is disconnected, the electrical
supply interrupted and/or some abnormality
detected. Use the following re-set procedure
to return sunroof operation to normal.

1. If the sunroof lid is open, push the tilting
switch repeatedly toward tilt DOWN to fully
close the lid.

2. After the lid has closed all the way, keep
pushing the tilting switch toward tilt DOWN
for more than 1 second.

Yeah i mean i can get it to close, but before whenever you opened the door the sunroof would shut, and it was just a nice feature while it lasted i guess.

So i guess my next question is was the car "messed" up before, even tho it was better, and now it is how it is supposed to be? Or can the sunroof be programmed to do this?

i just did the reset procedure on my 2k2 and it works like it's supposed to. this wouldn't be a feature for only a few cars. if you have a 2k2 or 2k3 try the reset procedure (and keep trying if you don't get it the first time). if there wasn't supposed to be an auto open, they would only provide the "tilt" switch.

my friends 4th gen closes on its own. after he wrecked it, he got another 4th gen with a sunroof. the first one was gle or gxe, the second one is an se with 5spd. the se does not close on it's own. it must be a programmable feature, i was kind of dissapointed my 5th gen did not close in its own either. mabe if you take it to a nissan dealer, they may know how to program the auto-close.

Mine has closed since I got the car a year ago. It always closes after I turn the car off.
Like someone said. This wouldn't be a feature only some would have. It even mentions the self-shutting in the manual.
