Yes, replace the tires. Mine got worse and worse in the rain but were great in dry weather. I got 225/50WR-17 Avon Tech M550 A/S

Replace the tires before winter...or it rains again. I test drove my car in the rain and nearly wound up in a ditch because of the Potenzas horrible wet weather traction. I bought Kumho Ecsta ASX tires the day after I took delivery of my car and they have been pretty good for an "inexpensive" tire. If you want something better, go for the Toyo Proxes-it'll be worth the $$.
