VB mod

I have it, and when you ask is it worth it, what do you mean? for performance?
I did (Maximum Tuning Stage 2) it because it will hopefully save my tranny in the long run. As far as performance I think it is a minimal gain.

From the website, there's not too much info on the VB mod. My questions are, did you have to send them a core to minimize the downtime? And if so, whre did you obtain the core, junkyard etc. And also, what was the total price in the end?

juice - you have the stage 2. How are the shifts? You also had the tranny cooler installed, too, right? Do you notice much difference under normal/light accelerating? Are the shifts hard or just firm under hard accelerating? Sorry for the questions and for hijacking this thread, but I'm also thinking about this mod. Trying to figure out the logistics. Thanks.

I have a custom VB. Its in between Stage 2 and 3 the 1-2 shift is very hard. Msot will not like it, I have to let off the gas in between shifts during normal driving so the car does buck. I have been in a car with a normal stage 2 and that is fine for normal every day driving. The shifts are very quick with no hesitation or hang up in between gears. And yes I have a tranny cooler.

With stock tires, do you ever get a chirp, or even with the 18's? I found this to be the annoying part of the WOT drop res mod, as during wot, the steering wheel had a mind of it's own during shifts along with a loud chirp, especially on turns. And this mod is not WOT activated so would figure it could grow annoying after a while even during normal driving.

With my 18s i can dhirp 1-2 easily and sometimes even 2-3. It doenst matter when partial or WOT throttle, on the 1-2 it is very easy to break them loose. By the way mine is harsher than the drop resistor mod and it shifts hard at WOT which the resistor does not. And yes I can see how it could get annoying but then again I have a harsher shift than Stage 2

I think even if there is no, or very minimal performance gain, it's still good to know it helps the longevity of the transmission, which already seems to be a weak link with these vehicles.
I think a stage II for me will do just fine, a spring project to look foward to.
Just curious, but why did you choose a stage 2.5?

The stage 2 is fine for everyday driving and works a lot better at WOT than the drop resistor. The stage 2 is not as harse normal driving as the drop resistor with low rpm shifts. I've driven and ridin in juices car and i can say its not for everyone, its awesome at the track but for everyday driving you wouldnt want your low rpm shifts to be harsh. I would recommend the stage 2 it has a nice feel to it.

Thanks for great replies. Good info and very concise. I just have to come with money and resolve logistics. I'm also looking going to a junk yard for a core, so my car won't be down. I envy you guys that can just go there and have it done. lol

Bottom line.
Bottom line if you have an auto 3.0 or 3.5 & your tired of being at a light & having a 5 speed next to you who constantly pullls on you in first & second get a VB mod best bang for the buck for Auto Maximas. Longevity is just bonus.

I've got the stage 2 VB and I'm very happy with it. Shifts are very firm without being harsh (for the most part). My wife drives the car 90% of the time with the kids in the back and has no complaints at all. Well..... at least not about the shifting. She's not to fond of the CF hood, loud exhaust, and bone jarring ride.
