Does anybodies 02/03 Auto shift at redline in the 1st to 2nd shift
I was just wondering does anyones 02/03 Auto shift at redline in the 1st to 2nd gear shift when you floor it leaving it in drive. Mine shifts at 6,300-6,400 instead of 6,600 and my auto 350Z also shifts at 6,300-6,400 instead of 6,600. My sisters 04 TL doesnt go to redline either leaving it in drive.
Thanks

i dont think its supposed to go to redline when you floor it after leaving it in drive. I think it is designed to shift to the higher gear before you hit redline. Mine always shifts at about 5 grand. Now if you left it in 1 or 2 and then floored it, I'm sure you could hit redline no problem, but why would you want to?

It's been commented before that 2k2/2k3 autos shift from 1 - 2 at just over 6k, then will shift closer to redline on the other shifts
If you manual shift, at WOT I shift from 1 - 2 right when the tach hits 6k, and the shift happens at redline. Rest of the shifts you don't have to worry about. FYI, if you feel (and hear) a CLUNK, it's because you shifted too late and the engine hit the rev limiter as it shifted. So do it again, but better

...all depends on how you drive it. Mine usually shifts just shy of 6600 rpm. Might be because I have one of the last 5th gens made. Literally: it was made in Jan. 2003. I bought it right as the 6th gens were coming onto the lots.
