Yeap Soonerfan and I just did the Sea foam to my car and so far:
Maxima Se 2001,
1. Idle really smooth. From a rough one to a really smooth one
94 Toyota Corolla
1. Damn this car was in bad shape from the engine idle point, mechanically is in top sahpe. Has 110K and going strong, it is my daily commute to the office which is 500 miles per week. I just did to the car too, and Wow you can feel the engine "in idle" really smooth, will test it tomorrow going to the office.
Will keep updating the list today.... I'm taking the car "Max" out for a spin, but the engine feel GOOD and sounds better...... Ohh, if the idle is the only thing it fixes, It is well worth it.

BG44K cleans the fuel system - lines, injectors, etc (and no it is not crap)
Seafoam is to clean the air system - intake manifold, etc.
you need to do both to clean out both systems.

Where did you buy the Sea Foam? I been reading about this stuff and want to give it a try. When you say it was like $5 is that everything you need to use it? Any pointers on using it? My guy at ProLube uses a cleaner that is applied in a canister that is attached to the brake booster vaccum, he sets the car at a higher idle and lets the canister empty into the system. Is this the same as sea foam?

for the upper manifold system. The B&G44K is for fuel system as had stated.

My sister drives a Rodeo (00' w/ a horible oil consumption and 85K) that eats a quart of oil every 3K. I changed her spark plugs yesterday to help with her fluctuating idle. I want to use seafoam, but not sure if this will clean away too much making her oil leak worst. It's more than likely blow by and all the oil is just getting burning in the cylider then pushed out the exhaust.
Would anyone recommend seafoam for her? Her throttle body is pretty dirty as well.

Going back to the BG44K it is crap.... for the price... I rather use the Chevron Techron..... cheaper and works better.....

You can use it even in your oil.... transmission, lawnmower..etc... gas tank. That's what the label says......

Just did it on my sisters Rodeo and yeah that mother smoked pretty bad. She has all kinds of engine problems including a SES light. Sometime this week I'm going to hook up a computer to it and do some compression tests to see what is going on. My throttle body looked spotless so I'm going to hold back for at least alittle while before I do this to the max.

Just did it. A lot of nasty smoke came out.
Problems:
SES-came on as soon as I re-started her.
During the first drive when I came to a stop light, it almost died on me. When I accelerated, it started back-firing like crazy. A few minutes later the back-firing/missing went away. I drove straight to AutoZone, and they were closed.
It may be that something was already wrong with her, and using SeaFoam pushed her over the edge...
Will post the code tomorrow...

C'mon... only one person tripped a CEL so far.... nothing to be so afraid of... it might be something totally unrelated... then again, I'll try to do it first before I say any more...

I don't know that two bad experiences could keep me from using Seafoam because like they said, it could have just revealed an existing problem which could have caused more problems in the future. If you read all the threads about it in the fluids section, I am pretty confident that you will find that the satisfied customers far outnumber the unsatisfied.

still, there is a saying that says "it only takes one screw up to blow over a lifetime of good deeds." so seafoam may have helped millions of people, but ur only gonna remember bout the bad times.

My sister already had a SES light before I even did this to her car. Hopefully by Tuesday I'll totally understand why it went off in the first place. I'll ask some of my instructors at school about sea foam and their takes on carburator cleaner that is sucked in through a vacuum hose.

There might be too much carbon deposits in his intake manifold and the seafoam clogged the exhaust valves with dissolved by-products. I think you guys should first run the product in the gas tank first. Then, do it with the vacuum line after 1 or 2 gas treatments. The vacuum procedures speed up the removal of carbon deposit process. If there are too much accumulation of carbon deposits, chances are you will see similar negative results as mentioned.

lol..... ill try it on my dads chevy first, if all goes well ill move onto moms car, then finally onto mine. if ima break soemthing ill find out before it enters my motor.
