Gio, the most important thing is that your gf is all right despite what happened. With all the work you put into your car, I definitely understand exactly what you are feeling right now.

The bastardblazer was already on a flatbed when I arrived and couldn't get close enough to take a pic. Cops were telling me to leave.

Damn your rear end is gone. I don't know what I would be doing if I were in your situation, but thank god that an oncoming car didn't also hit her. Objects can be replaced.... people can't. Hope everything works out for the better.

Yes, yes.... we're all VERY glad that no one was hurt under such devastating circumstances, it's SCARY.... but, after you realize that everyones ok(GOOD NEWS) then, there is still the matter of the car, which will never be up and about again, it's hard to say goodbye when she's not looking so healthy But, there will be others... it was... after all... just a car!!
Sorry to hear man, glad everyone's OK... and don't sue, you'll get probably more than you should from the insurance co.

Sorry to hear about this. It seems like such a common occurance on the Org. I'm glad to hear your GF escaped with minimal injury. Just remember the car can easily be replaced and chances are you will come out a little ahead on the deal.

The wreck looks exactly like happened to my wife a few years back. She was at a standstill in late night construction traffic and a drunk in the VW Rabbit slammed into the trunk, offset, just like with your Maxima. The damage looks almost identical. The Highway Patrol estimated his collision speed at around 50mph or so. I was amazed to see so little cabin intrusion from the impact. If people were in the back seat, they would have easily survived. I arrived at the scene within 20 minutes of the wreck and my wife walking around, but was upset and had some whiplash. Then a witness informed me the drunk, not 20 feet from me, had thrown a box of wine over the barrier right after the accident. I was livid, saw red, and started to approach the drunk. The cop grabbed me, put in some sort vulcan-sedating position with my head resting on the hood of his cruiser, and calmly told me to remember it's only a car and my wife was okay, and that the drunk will get "his" with multiple infractions, especially for trying to hide the wine. I calmed down and he let me go to my wife.

Just remember, the guy will get what's coming to him.

Im just happy that my girl has left the hospital, and she is home resting . She's pretty banged up, but thats it. I called my insurance as well as the a-hole's.......He was in the same emergency room as her, and I really wanted to go over and beat him to a bloody pulp. The way he hit her, he rear ended the car into the opposite oncoming lanes, and she could've been killed . Oh, well, we move on....its gonna hit me soon, and thats gonna really suck...
Everythings replaceable in life....... except for people. Glad to here everyone is alright and and here to talk about it. It still sux about your car though. I'd sue the **** out of his insurance company.

Glad to hear that your GF is okay. From the looks of your car, it could have been soooo much worse. I agree with others here, the cabin looks pretty much intact - good safety design. Good luck with insurance and stuff. Give your GF a big hug and both of you take care. I, too, think your Max was one of the nicest here.

Glad to hear that your girlfriend is doing ok. I hope the bastard's insurance does you right. Make them pay for all the hospital fees too.

The Maxima is an amazing car to have held up that well after being hit that hard. It probably saved her life.

Its just too hard for idiot drivers to actually learn to drive nowadays...a daily commute shouldn't be so dangerous.

Glad to see your gf is ok. Take the owner of the trailblazer and fock them in court.

first off gio, glad the GF is okay. She's really cool to chill with the few times we met her. Second, good things happen to good people so things will come around. Its hard to look at this with a positive light, but 1. the GF is safe and well 2. the max is a safe car 3. now you have the opportunity to car shop. We all complain about our cars, but deep down we all love them... so everyone here feels you.

the socal crew is here for you. You got my number.

How's she doing now - any updates? Sorry about the car. I will say one thing - that Maxima REALLY holds up in offset rear end accidents. The rest of the car looks squished a bit but really intact, considering the amount of energy imparted in a crash like that.

Hope your girl heals, and hope your love for the Maxima is further fueled in the upcoming search.

Sorry about the accident Gio, hope your GF comes out okay. It'll take a while but by the looks of it she's definitely going to be feeling it in the next couple of days.

This really freaks me out, it seems it's about this time of the year that there are a good number of Maxima accidents.

I'm rather upset by this news. You are one of this forum's most prominent 5th gen owners. I'm very glad your GF is ok -- I know what it's like to have a GF suffer in a car accident.

Bounce back with a G35 or a 3.5 Altima, bro. Good luck, don't forget about the ORG.
