Went to dealer regarding clunking noise....

So i wnt to the dealer regarding this loud clunking noise ive been having for about 3 or 4 days now...

this clunking noise happends when i let go of the gas and sometime when i fully turn the steering wheel to the left

i brought it to the dealer they said its my rear (hotshot) header banging against this shield in the back..... but if it was that it would make the noise at a stand still reving the negine correct?

anyway...they also said the 02 sensor is eventually going to fry through the ac line in the front...and i told them my tranny has bene slipping and they said with the headers they wont be able to cover me on that..

this crap sucks......

what dealer in NJ is this? your tranny, and the headers, are totally unrelated. if necessary, go to the FAQs part of the forum, and print out the Moss v. Magnuson act that states, basically, your warranty can only be voided if the dealer can prove that the aftermarket part directly caused the failure of the part in question. your headers banging on something, yeah, thats not covered, cuz its the aftermarket header banging. but the tranny? thats bull, that shouldbe covered

to play devil's advocate here....I suppose the dealer could claim that the extra power from the headers caused "undue strain" on the tranny....

not that it would be true, but they could always argue that.....

thats what i was thinking...they can say the headers since adding more power..puts more stress on the transmission therefor causing it to fail.....but i know for sure it cant be the header making the noise due to reasons i stated earlier.....i just hope everything gets settled and fixed.......things like this always make me want to just sell this car and get something different

**UPDATE** just got back fomr getting the sensor recall done and the good news is the dealer said they will cover my tranny if it goes because the headers arent attached to it.....but they said that they do affect my engine warranty
