Lowered Spring Comfort Satisfaction Poll:
For some reason my search button does not work, so please don’t flame if this is a repost. I’m contemplating between Progress & Tein S lowing springs and would like to hear about there ride quality from those who own them. I’m may be partial to other brands also, so please post your ride quality experiences with the other brands also. Your help will be greatly appreciated….

I know what you mean, I’ve had H&R’s on a few of my other cars and the ride quality was great but never quite low enough.
Thanks for the input!

Great idea for a poll. I'd say my progress are somewhere between pretty smooth and rough. They're comfortable for the most part but on really chopped up/potholed pavement it can crash once in awhile. Basically, they're smooth unless they bottom - which happens rarely - on potholes and ugly explansion joints.

I'm riding on Tein S-Tech's and GR2's. I couldn't be happier with the look. Fortunately, the roads in the area are quite good so that my ride is most of the time pretty smooth and little rough on occasion.
I really want to switch to illuminas.

I voted that Tein S were rough - but that's because of prior experience. I had Tein S-Techs and KYB GR2 struts and the ride was horribly rough and VERY bouncy.
I then went back to stock.
I now have Tein H-Tech springs and Illuminas in the front, and stock suspension in the rear (soon to be Tein H-Tech Illuminas as well). I am VERY pleased with the comfort/ride quality/look of the Tein H-Tech/Illumina combo thus far.

I'll tell you next weekend.....maxspeeds and illuminas going on soon...
btw - the strut/shocks you use make a big difference too. There is a real difference between
OEM struts
KYB AGX
KYB GR-2
tokico blues
tokico illuminas.
I would not suggest OEM struts w/lowered springs...I'd suggest adjustable struts (Illuminas or one of the KYB's which I can't remember) so you can tweak the ride stiff/soft front and rear for more balanced handling.

I'm very happy with my Maxspeed & KYB GR-2 combo. I still feel like the car shudders a bit and can't help but think it has more to do with the structural rigidity. If I ever get ambitious enough I'll go with the subframe connectors.

I think it really depends on the strut / spring combination to get the best results. I see alot of members using Teins S with struts such as Tokico blues or Gr2’s which really are OEM replacements and do not have the correct dampening rate for the Teins or Progress springs. I’m thinking a Koni, or Tokico adjustable will provide a stiffer but smoother ride for these applications.

I'll probably get the stage 1 SFC in a couple of months...don't know if I'll get 2 and 3 - one step at a time.....
