Easy to take out rear seat?

Thinkin of hittin up the strip tomorrow night, gotta go all out tho. Havent removed the rear seat before - is it a pain to do? Just wondering from you guys who take it out to go draggin. I know the front is easy, probly not much different in the rear, but if ya'll wanna tell me if there are any hidden bolts or whatnot, that'd be excellent. Lata

bottom part comes out in 30seconds, just pull the two tabs along the bottom, but it only wieghts like 1-3 pounds, if that, the back just has a few bolts that are easy to get too once u fold it down

You'd get better times if you used the "back seat removal" time to practice your starts.

i've got at least 35-40 drag strip starts, pretty much got it down. I'm limited by my tires. Weight reduction is my next obstacle...

Speaking of weight reduction. You can remove the spare tire from the trunk, thats another 15 to 30lbs.
Have you considered adding a CF Hood? or you have that already?

Remove, jack, tools, spare tire with the covers, front passenger seat, run the car with about 1/4 of gas or less. Rear seat only weights about 25lbs including the backrests.

ya i do all the weight things. remove front seat, carpets, spare, jack, subs. Other good tips are use a bunch of zip ties and wrap them around the front springs. Helps keep the front end from raising up and transferring some weight over the rear axles (a bad thing for FWD cars). It helps.

And the zip ties hold up the pressure in the front springs?

Surprisingly, yes, they do. I've actually had zip ties on the front springs since my last trip to the drags in.... June I think it was. I figured they'd break off after a couple days, but nope. Still on....

Do you take out your center concole? I've taken mine out here recently to put in a leather shift boot. it feels like it weighs a good 10 - 20lbs. just as long as you're taking everything else out, ya know... good luck dude!
