strut/spring pros help please

hello, im going to be getting tokico illuminas, but im not sure what kinda of springs to get. im aware of houscors web site, but i have one main difference that my friend told me to be careful of....i have subs in back that are a total weight of about 60lbs. it lowers my stock spring in the back .5 of an inch. so the front is about 3.5in gap and the back is a 3in. gap. ill also be putting on 19's with 35 thickness tires....he was thinking that it may bottom out on the freeway ups and downs and bumps, because of the extra weight in the trunk. I was planning on getting h&Rs since most say those are above avg on handling and the ride is nice. any others? or does anyone have a system in their trunk with illuminas?? what springs are you using?? with all of this in mind what do you guys say i should go with?? thanks! oh yeah anybody know where i can find the spring rate for H&R sports? i couldnt find it on theri web site. thanks again.

Where is the box located in the trunk? Against the back seats, or at the very rear? That will make a difference in the amount of sag you may experience. The further back, the more load placed on the rear springs. However it doesn't sound like you have much sag with the stock springs. As the gap in the rear is smaller than the gap in the front stock. So you might be fine with the H&Rs.

But if rear sag will definately be a problem, then you might want to check into the Tein H-Techs. They have a high rear spring rate, and give the car a forward rake which would hide the appearance of rear sag.

H&R doesn't publish their spring rates. But the H-Techs are: 179 in/lb in the front, and 285 in/lb in the rear. The H&Rs are probably a little less than that.

You wont bottom out, your worrying for no reason. I have over 400+lbs in my trunk and im sittin on Tein S.tech with a bodykit. Its low, but ive been .5" lower all around with a fully loaded car and still had no problems.

coo, i just needed someone to say exactly what you said. i think all just go for tein-H for the even drop all around, given the extra weight in back.
