Every single thing you've done to your Max is just impeccable. Had you kept the chrome trim, the wheels would have been too much. Now it's just perfect, if not the best-looking black 5.5

Go to auto zone, and look for TrimBrite Blackout tape. Part number T-9005
Looks like this.... go to trimbrite.com It's at the bottom of the page. Makes a black max look GREAT!

Thanks the 3 of you, ROCK. bluesbrekr - I was unsure of what product and how it was applied. Aliti- THANKS for info, Maximadmoiselle - good looking out.

I think I am going to do it, it shouldn't constrast because of my tint but my body is grey lustre.

Personally I think it's the cleanest looking 5th gen on here.....nice and sleeper with some tweaks that make a difference (smoked side markers, blacked trim, etc...) and performance mods that you can't see.....only thing you gotta do, Tom, is get some 2k-1 SE tails to complete the blackout and get rid of those 2k2-3 tails! (or have you done that already?)

I'm actually going for pretty much the same look, all blacked-out (except for my yellow fogs....) though not sure if I'm gonna black out the trim right now.....

There you go, Irish. Yeah, I love the smoked corners too! I'm just not sure if you should really black out the chrome trim because I can't see your tint (sorry about my tint-distorted mind)
I kinda think it would look nice, especially with the roof rack and since your windows aren't too dark. I have found that I love the way my chrome trim stands out against the black windows, but again I'm going for the exact opposite look.

I can't say which 5genner is the cleanest looking... There are so many guys that have done a really great job that it would be a crime to discriminate, but bluesbrekr's definitely has a lot of class, a lot!

I'm just partial to the black maxes.....

my tint doesn't look that dark but it keeps the car cool which was my main goal, not looks....besides, I'm actually tinted to the legal limit here, and Va. cops DO enforce it....

Even limo tint is helpless against the FL sun.. I'm used to that already. The 35 you have in the rear you have is well noticeable, I just couldn't find a closeup up to see it (didn't feel like going through all 21 pages either!) God, and just when I think that I'm whining about my 25/15 being too light.....

Thanks for the props, everyone.

irish, I swapped to the black tails about 6 months ago. The amber bulbs have been replaced with chrome coated ones.

My 2K2 tails will soon have a new home.....right maximad?

Trimbrite tape works well. I slit the roll cause half the width is more than enough. It requires a steady hand with a sharp blade to trim it.
