Those with carbon fiber hoods ( a little help please).

I just received my VIS oem style hood. I was putting it on, and the holes didn't line up real well on the mounting brackets. I had to drill out one of the holes on the passenger side a little bigger to get the bolts in. Now, it looks good on the drivers side, but the passenger side has a big gap. It get's bigger on it's way down towards the headlight. How do I adjust this? Did anyone else have these same problems? Also, what do I do for a hood prop? Thanks.

I had the exact same problem with my CF hood. Although mine was not a VIS. I'm assuming by gap you mean a gap between the hood and fender?? If so, you need to play with the latch. By moving the latch down it will pull the hood down and get rid of SOME, probably not all, of that gap you are talking about. I ended up going back to the stock hood because my CF hood just fit like a piece of s!*t, even after adjusting the latch. Hopefully this helps you.

Chris.

Yes, the gap is between the hood and the fender. The reason for the gap, is because the hood is not made well and the bolts don't line up 100%.

As we have posted many times, CF hoods dont always fit exactly as the original one. When the hood gets made, and clearcoated, the process itself shrinks it a bit, therefore it might be a bit off. You can look at 5 VIS hoods, and most likely, all would fit differently. My hood is not a VIS hood, but it lines up perfectly on the sides, but up front there is a slight gap between the headlights and the hood. I have the CF eyelids from Leftcoast Tuning, so you cant notice it at all.....

It's one of a kind. You can't get one. I even tried contacting them to make more but didn't feel there was a market. That was Irvine78's hood made by KBD in CA and Kloogy bought it from him.

How hard is it to install the hood pins, and does anyone have a hood prop?

It's on and fits good. I just need to have a bodyshop tweak with it once I get the bodykit and whole car repainted. Gap on pass side is good looking almost like stock and drivers side is a little bigger. Heres a couple pics of it on. Since I have washed car and haven't gotten better pics yet. Yes I have lowering springs so don't say anything but coilovers will be helping that.
