Hi all,

My car idle's VERY loud. It seems the noise is due to a fan that is running loud, especially after the car has been running a little bit. I have no idea how the cooling system works, but could this be a thermostat problem and the fan just runs on high all the time to keep the car cool? The thermometer says the car is running in a normal temp, but it did spike up one day last summer. Maybe it is something else completely? All i know is that it is way louder than my friend's max at idle.

im having the same problem.. still dont know whats wrong with it, but its loud.

It might be a resistor on the fan that controls the speed, so if it is dead the only speed the fan will work on is high....same as your A/C-heater fan....

not sure if this could be related. But me AC sometimes needs to be shut off and back on for it to blow cold air.. Anyone know what causes that?
