PLEASE HELP : GAUGES not working properly
I had ordered gauge overlays and when we went to put them on they did not match up but we had already taken the dash apart and all the gauges out... well when we put them back in the speedometer and the tachometer were messed up... they have become slow... they kind of bounce around and they get stuck... My friend had suggested we reset the computer but told me to ask first to see if it would do anything...
Basically my question is will resetting the computer help this at all ? If not than is there anything I can do or do I need to buy an all new gauge cluster?

reason why you should not put overlays. common problem. try to tap the needle bases or pull them slighly (adjust as needed, ensure they don't rub etc)
play enough with them and they should work again.
again, it's a known issue, sometimes it happens, sometimes not.

i installed some on mine, boy was it a pain in the **** or what... the new guages make it thicker and the needle rubs the guage, thats why they begin to stick and they move slow... i basically adjusted mine so there was no excess anywhere, meaning the overlay was exactly flat at all placces... and that fixed the problem, they've been ok since and no problems...
if i had to do it again, i'd pay my local shop and let someone who know's what they're doing handle the job...
