Let's test your common sense.
FACT: Making more HP is all about moving more air through the engine.
Question 1: Do you think putting any sort of restriction in the intake will make more HP?
Question 2: Are customers' testimonials posted directly on the vendor's website worth more than horse poo?

not worth it.. if you want a good bolt on fair priced mod, try gettting a WAI... those are pretty much worth it... or just go get some strut bars... I hate those spoolers or tornados.... just hate them. My 2 cents

in theory reducing the turbulence will help the engine. however, while that product may reduce the turbulence of the air after the airbox, think of all the places that air still has to go through, namely the throttle body. many twists there and so on... so the turbulence, I imagine, is not reduced in the end.

And I did notice some shady tesimonials on that customer page...
thanks.

of course I hafta point out that I havent seen anyone on the org who has personally tried one of these, so there is no hands on proof that it does or doesnt work, it just would appear that it wont work. They offer $ back, and I believe they sell the tornado things locally near me, so I was considering trying one out just for kicks next time I go to the track. Few runs w/o it, toss it in and do a few more runs. If it doesnt work, I'll either get the $ back or take a hit for the org.
On the other hand, while it may reduce power, if it reduces airflow, that could increase mpg (less wasted power) and I'd go for a lil better MPG with these sky-high gas prices. Probly wont end up buyin one cause I dont feel like forkin out money, but maybe

Ghetti Air Box. cut out some of the plastic in the front of the airbox to allow more air flow thru the filter. Keeps the stock tubing (which is designed to resonate to produce good low end torque as well as high end power) and also seems to avoid MAF failures

Personally I would never put one of those tornado things on my ride, but I can see how it might create what is called "Velocity" of the incoming air. A perfect example of this would be go & flush your toilet & notice how the water will begin to swirl. So I can see how even though it will restrict the intake tube it may help the incoming air generate more speed at which it would enter the intake manifold. Kind of like how a "TORNADO" works. And we all no the power that a tornado makes?

yep, t'is
Out of curiosity, what is a "velocity stack"?
And how the hell would a venturi help accelerate the air?
I thought venturis were mainly useful because of the vacuum produced inside when air passes through (hence the core principle behind the carburetor, since that vacuum sucks fuel into the airstream)

The very fact that the air stream has increased velocity means there is more vacuum on the engine side. That means there is less air getting into the engine. The ECU will note the reduced air volume and decrease fuel accordingly. That means less power.
I'm not sure if these guys posted dyno results, I' m sure they did. That doesn't matter though because dyno pulls can vary +/- 5-10% without changing a thing. They could be posting their worst stock pull with their best modded pull for all we know, or just take the asy route and lie.

reducing airflow restricts more HP... thats why there are mods like Frankencar and Injen to offer bigger air filters and midpipes to allow more INFLOW of air...
Get a Injen or a Frankencar for a quick and nice HP/TQ mod... and it doesnt really cost a arm and a Leg either..... oh yeah also adds some great revving sounds to your car

Probably won't be doing headlights. I haven't seen/heard of any issues, but the foglights tend to break regularly without protection.
$20 plus shipping.
