VB Mod on 2k2?!

AFAIK, the VB mod is supposed to increase the life of the auto tranny, since the slow shifts actually increase wear. i had it on my '98 altima (done by maximum tuning in NY) and it was great. anyone tried it on the 5th gen max?

I have it on my 2003. It's one of my favorite mods. Shifts are firm but not harsh. I debated on this versus the drop resistor mod, but decided on the VB because I wanted firmer shifts for everyday driving, not just when racing. The VB is even better now because Jeff has the second version out which improves much more on the 2-3 shift.

I gotta see how my new tranny plays out....I gotta break it in first...then I'm gonna see...I dont wanna drop ~$500 on a VB mod and then have it die on me and nissan not warranty it cuz i modified it....
these auto trannies are like $4k....I cant afford that kinda hit

Does somebody actually understand why this puts less wear on the trany. I dont see how slower shifts could hurt my auto.
What exactly do they change? Is it electrical, mechanical?
I am interested, but probably wont do it for warrantee reasons.

I haven't been to the track yet and I haven't read any hard evidence that it better 1/4 mile times but theoretically it should.

I ordered mine from Jeff at Max Tuning.. It ran 400.00 with the shipping and the best part was he has core replacments there so he will send you the unit (w/ the vb mod) then await yours to be sent to him.. You have to give him a 200.00 deposit, but it is worth it.. Seemed to be a cool guy, very friendly..

*street/strip*- greatly quickens 1-2 shift and slightly quickens 2-3 shift to improve tranny life(especially on vehicles with modified engines) Good for everyday driver/weekend racer looking for sreetable performance.
*Race*-Very hard 1-2 shift. Car will most likly "chirp" wheels under hard accelertation. Hard shifts will be noticed at all times.

i got the stage 1 VB done at max tuning last friday. it's nice. not a big different in performance but i wanted to protect the tranny and remove some of the shifting lag.
if your tranny is slipping, then the damage is already done and i don't think a vb mod will fix anything without doing some additional repair work.

I got my stage 2 done yesterday and I couldn’t be happier. It shifts nice and firm into second, and then again into third. The tach drops down immediately and quickly to begin going through the next gear. Great for the money and good for the trans. I am not sure about the performance gains, but if anything it would certainty be positive.
