My wife says the same thing about me after I eat Taco Bell. But seriously, does your fuel guage go to empty when your car is turned off? This may sound pretty silly, but have you tried tapping the guage area to see if the needle is stuck? If you do need a new guage, I'd check with Courtesy Nissan or Dave B.

If your needle is moving, I suspect something in your sending unit to your gauge is fubared.

When I replaced my FF, I didnt install the FF assembly absolutely correctly. It was stuck at 1/4. But would move down to E when turned off. I had to reinstall it correctly.

The FF assembly is made of 2 basic componets that derive the "sending unit". If you wish to trouble shoot yourself, it will take about 20 minutes or so to determine whether or not you need a new sending unit. I cant really tell you how to trouble shoot your wiring...but I suspect the unit itself is having issues.

If you want more info...shoot me a ring.

The float on the fuel sending unit could be stuck in the raised position.

Yeah...I was thinking that too...but no way to prove it for sure unless he gets in there and pulls the FF assembly.

You basically have to remove the fuel filter assembly to check the float operation. If you're not comfortable doing that, take it to someone you trust to check it for you.
