Remote Starter

Are there any recommendations for a "Stand Alone" starter, without
all the fancy remote entry and all that other stuff that I already have
with my factory alarm.

I have the crimestopper RS901. You use the existing key fob, hit the lock button 3 times to start. Works great, range is much better than I had anticipated. You will need to use a key to bypass the security system, I used my valet key. I didn't install it myself, my Nissan dealer has a person that does all of there remote starters at the dealership. This remote starter is about $60 on Ebay.

Dont forget you need to use one of your chipped keys for the remote start to work. It goes into some extra unit - cost about $60.

DEI 555U

"Requires use of a spare key for the vehicle."

It says this in the description. What does
this mean?

Is this an actual starter or a bypass for a starter?

Does this thing come with a remote (DEI 555U).

In the "Features" row, it says somehting about
"Super bright bulbs give you the style and proud to your vehicle.

Can be used as Stop, Turn Signal, Tail, Parking, Sidemarker, Corner, Backup, Reverse"

What does light have to do with a starter?

Sorry for all the questions.

The DEI 555U is the key bypass needed for the remote starter to work. You need to sacrifice a key to put inside of it. You then need to purchase a remote starter, such as the crimestopper RS901 I mentioned.

So no matter what, I have to purchase a duplicate chipped key, a bypass and the remote starter itself?

I have the Viper 550 ESP, which used to be the fanciest remote start + alarm system 2 years ago. I paid $650 for parts and labor. I know I'm crazy. Shut up.
