2K2 Auto Dynoed- 231.1HP and 232TQ!!!
Today I got a chance to pull 2 dyno pulls.
MODS: TechnoSquare ECU, Stillen Headers, Straight Pipe, 2.5 Custom Catback and WAI.
Run 1 - 231HP/231.1TQ
Run 2 - 231.1HP/232TQ
I am pretty pleased with these numbers and cant wait till the track opens in the spring. on a side not the guy who dynoed my car was very knowledgeable (he is a driver in the NASCAR truck series). We talked for about 3hrs. He said that the I will definitely gain more torque and a few ponies if I put my main cat back on. We also discussed the Stillen Headers and how many lost power. He beleives it is definitely becuase of a combination of the ecu and the loss of backpressure. He said to a possible solution to the problem is putting back on the main cat or a less free flowing muffler. I will be able to post the printouts later.
This is a good display of what the Stillen Headers and TS ECU can do when combined. Manual guys with the same mods will be very close to 240HP.

Also, how come the torque and hp are so close to eachother, 02/03 maximas have more torque stock than hp, so can someone explain this?

03BlkSETE - Stock Plugs...never changed them they are clean
IceY2K1 - thsi is the same place I went to when I dynoed 218HP and 230TQ with my A/F ratio at 9.8:1. By the way my A/F ration is in the high 11's:1 rangeabove 4000rpm. This is still a little rich.

So the ONLY change was the TS ECU, right?
Can you post the dyno or email it to me?

This thread is going to cost me alot of money. I was pretty happy with my car with the addition of the Y pipe and considering not doing any major mods this year. Now I definitely decided to go with headers and ECU very soon. Problem is i'm not getting any traction now, so I'll have to upgrade my tires soon also. Damn this is going to be expensive.

He has a digital camera, so he can take a picture of the WHOLE dyno page NOT just the peak readings.
Please juice.

he's talking about what the car actually puts on the ground. The drivetrain (in every car) saps hp from the engine. That 231hp is very good for a modded auto.

I'd get the TS ECU instead, since you already have the ypipe.

Why wait on the ECU?

I'd have to see the whole graph and also I'd have to see a comparison run on the same dyno pre-headers and ECU. All dynos read differently and that's why you need to stick to the same machine during testing. The final "numbers" are pretty meaningless and only really serve as a "**** swinging graph", it's the gains/losses and where they are that actually means something. Nealoc187's dyno numbers are very low for his mods compared to other 4th gens, but he pulls off 13.6s@101mph on slicks.
Also, I don't know how much I'd trust a dyno operator that tells you you'll gain power back by adding backpressure. I'm not going to into the real specifics, but backpressure is never a good thing. You want good exhaust velocity because that what keeps the exhaust gases hot so they'll exit the pipe quickly. It has nothing to do with "back pressure". Just because he was a NASCAR driver doesn't mean he knows much about auto mechanics. Sounds to me like he only knows how to race cars.

Oh..oooh. What happened?
I know where you can get a KILLER deal on a J&Sw/gauge.
Too bad TS can't program you an ECU that pulls timing when the N20 is activated. Maybe soon.
Yes, money.

Dave,

Save your preaching until we at least see the graph.

Whew! Thought you'd ZEX'd your engine to death.
Anyways, the J&S isn't mine, it's for sale on another board I saw and will be gone quick. Wish I had the money to buy.
Alex who?

Great minds must think alike, because you and I were thinking EXACTLY the same thing.
I think 5th geners have been a little disappointed lately with new mods, so they're chomping at the bit to find ANYTHING that works.
