Clunk when first moving from a stop

Car has been with the dealer all day and I phoned them to ask what's going on since they are usually good at getting back to me. Anyway they haven't been able to diagnose the problem.

Symptoms: Slight "clunk" when first moving from a dead stop. If I take off slowly, no clunk. My opinion is that it is an engine mount. The service advisor said they looked into it and a blown engine mount doesn't appear to be the problem. Any ideas?

BTW, the noise is coming from the front end and is definitely drivetrain related. It doesn't matter if i am driving straight or turning, and the clutch engages/releases smoothly.

I get that too...still don't know what it is.

Feels like I have an auto that's ready to die. Almost like it slips for a second and then *BANGS* into gear.

My guess is it's tranny related.

Yup, I get the wheel hop and a clunk. I'll bet the reason the control arm is hitting the frame is that a mount is shot which allows the whole engine to move under hard acceleration. Have they tried replacing any of your mounts?

Motor mounts are busted. Give it enough gas and it will do it every time. Pop the hood, have some1 put the car it gear and hold the brake with their left footm and give it a little gas (1200-1300rpms) with the other and you'll notice the engine moving quite a bit...this is the cause most of the time.
It is also possible for the suspension to cause a cluck to happen, ive even seen the b-pipe slam the into the underbody of the car causing a cluck be4.
Check it out that that order from most commen to barely ever the case.
