LEGALLY obtain your FSM on the cheap...

1. goto http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissan/

2. pay for $20 1 day pass.

3. dont use the FSM Link in the body of the site, instead use the menu to search for publications. Search for year/model of choice

4. Open the foldout first, save to HD with save icon in reader.

5. repeat for all sections, save in same folder, then all links will work within the FSM

6. Now, seach for TSBs (again, in the menu search pubs link), DL all sections.

7. Its an all day pass, get all the cars you want/need

You can also go to
http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/
your login will work there too.. get whatcha need..

**** please dont turn this into a sharing thread - Nissan/Tweddle (the publisher of this info) will shut this down if its abused. And I'd have to delete the thread, .org doesnt need the heat. Everyone loses. ****

$20 is cheaper than a tank of gas and you can get all the info for all the Nissan/Infiniti's you need.

enjoy..

Cool!

Tim,

Once you're done dl, it's basically the ESM + TSB's, right?

Also, how old do they go? I doubt it, but do they have ESMs for a 1993 Sentra?

Did the same thing myself... got the '03 FSM and all of the A33 TSBs. $20 is very reasonable for the day pass (if you've got broadband ) and it's cheaper/more reliable than trying to buy pirate off ebay.

pretty sure its everything back to 94

the TSBs are difficult.. with the infiniti, they seem to be by year, whereas on the nissan side, the whole platfrom is grouped together like the A33.. some old TSBs to weed thru.. but you got them

btw, my one day pass was active for more like two.. I downloaded from work and home without any problem. I suspect if you log in twice from a different IP, they toss you.

Electronic Service Manual basically a FSM in PDF format.

TSB = technical service bulletin. We have most of these here already, but not always easy to find.

that site is so confusing. I kept ending up at the print/CD only (order for $200 ) page. Then I realized all the 'goods' were in the top drop down menu, under search. But for $20, who's complaining

The funniest thing EVER was arguing with the head tech over the brakes on our Pathfinder. I told him I wanted the proportioning valve checked. He lays into me about how the internet is dangerous and is the problem, blah blah blah.. Finally he finishes by telling me there is no proportioning valve in a pathfinder. All this in front of the service writer.

Meanwhile, I have fired up the Ipaq (with a big SD card) and keep my ESMs on it. Without saying a word, I held the Ipaq up and at him, the page was "diagnosing the proportioning valve" classic.. he got beet red. The service writer was amused too. He immediately apologized and offered to totally break down and rebuild the rear brakes. Pads would be on them if needed.

The only issue I could see would be possiably breaking a EULA.

Aside from that, very good find, I know some people will benefit greatly from this.

I downloaded the 02 Maxima service book. It is very informative, but I was looking yesterday and couldn't find torque specs for tightening bolts in any of the sections. I was looking for flywheel torque specs. I ended up having to use my Haynes manual. Does anyone else know where the specs are? They may just not be there.

Have a look at page EM-66... upper right of the exploded view... does this help? Looks like 83-93 Nm, or 8.5-9.5 kg-m, or 61-69 ft-lb.
