im not sure of the model number it depends on the size of your flashlight (search on amazon for "maglite brackets") but just go to the section where they sell the flashlights and you might have to look twice to find it.

I used to have my collapsible baton right where everyone is putting there maglight, until one night an intoxicated off duty police officer chased me down for "driving reckless" and grabbed me when I got out of the car without saying who he was. So I smacked him a couple of time on his side with the baton. Then he pulled out his gun and put it to my head. I stopped hitting him with the baton. When he turned around for a second I jump into my car and went home. 2 hours later 11 police officers came and arrested me for 2nd degree assault on a police officer (felony), unlawful use of a deadly weapon (felony), reckless driving, and peace disturbance. Thank God I got all the charges dropped because the cop didn't show his badge. So NT2SHBBY I would take that out of your car. It's nothing but trouble. Same with anyone who is putting in the maglight next to their seat for "protection."

It's not a mod, it's a "maglight option"!!!

Now, change the maglight to use a Maxi Xenon bulb and you have a mod

Does have good form and functionality

Wrong.

Law enforcement agencies would have no problem with the mag lite considering its use of battling off thieves such as carjackers. Now, if you went and started beating a police officer with it, I am sure they would have issue, but otherwise, it's there for protection (just like the concealed handgun under my seat).

I am saying to NT2SHBBY take it out for sure because its consider concealing a deadly weapon. As for the maglights, sure cops won't/shouldn't give you problems for having it, but if you hit someone with it, its automaticly 2nd degree assult which is a felony. I was just also just protecting myself from some crazy person saying he's going to kick my @$$ then grabbing me and look what happen. I would have had the same charges weather I would have used baton or maglight.

Wrong again -- it would only technically be "concealed" if it was hidden under a seat or somewhere that it couldn't be seen when the car is open to observation. Furthermore, you were beating on a crazy police officer which is completely different from beating on some crazy thief trying to steal something.

I'm saying to have a baton in your car without the proper training will get you in some $h*t, not the maglight. I'm also saying if I would have used a maglight instead to protect myself from someone in regular clothes driving a kia that grabbed me as I got out of the car(the off duty cop), I would have been arrested for the same stuff. It's best to just use your fists. Honestly are you going to try and hit someone with a maglight if they put a gun to your head? I wouldn't have if I knew he had a gun. Also if you hit someone with that maglight that is unarmed, guess who looks like the aggresser? I'm just saying it not a good idea to think of it as a weapon or even consider using it.

I keep my torque wrench in it's case in the trunk if I ever need to take a crack at someone. It is about as heavy as a mag light and has a handle.

Yeah, I know it does a lot of good in the trunk!

you need to make a 'torque wrench holder' bracket and mount it by your seat

Another quick bump. Can the maglite fit anywhere else other than between the seat and the door?

Edit: i couldn't find the bracket at any of the hardware stores so i ordered it. I actually got the 3-cell D (step down from dave's light) and it looks like it'll fit snug. Im gonna wait until i get the brackets home and take pics.

Yeah, this is an old one that has been floating around for probably like 2 years now, but the mag light mod is probably one of the first home depot mods members do.

I like the mod but am a little concerned with it coming off during an accident and maybe even getting lodged under the brake pedal. Snapping the light in, in the opposite direction, would help.

nooo... these brackets are pretty damn tight. i dont see the light coming out, even on only one bracket unless youre in a pretty damn good accident.

I've been to 3 home depots and no luck finding the bracket and there are no ACE's hardware or Lowe's in my area... does anyone have an extra bracket left over anywhere? or a place to buy them online? Cuz I've been to mag lite's site and they dont have it for sale there.

Not to discredit this mod, but I bought this little beauty of a flashlight because I needed something I could carry on my belt without it being big and bulky. http://www.action-lights.com/flashli...ical_light.asp

Now you can blind people if its dark, or in the sun you can make people look away.
