Best Night Ever - Girl and 300Z

Wow, i just had a greta night, went out on a date with my woman, saw road to perdition (good movie), then came back and chilled at my place for a couple hours, so its already a good night. then, i drop her off at home, and just go driving. I see a silver 300ZX. I ask the guy if he's turbo, he says no, and we do two highway runs. the first one he hit it WAY before me and we had to shut down before i could catch up. On the second run, we both nailed it together at 50mph, and took it to about 90+. I had him by about 3 carlengths.

We stopped and talked at a gas station down the road, real cool guy. Its a 90 NA 300ZX, he says he has intake and exhaust, but he was also carrying a passenger, he was real surprised that I only had an intake. We talked a bit more, and he was trying to convince me to only buy JWT parts, cuz they make the best stuff for nissan's, but regardless he was a real cool guy.

And, I JUST BEAT A 300Z!

I need a cigarette...

My sister's boyfriend has one and when I drove it, my maxima felt a tad faster than his Z and I even drove it on the freeway and took it to about 90 cause it's hard to see when changing lanes and had to stomp on it since there was a truck about to slam me from behind when I made the lane change. The Z is a nice ride and wouldn't mind having one.

This is OT but how do you launch your car to get the time you got. I got a 15.9 @ 87 with a 2.4 60ft. I tried torque braking or whatever you want to call it and the car just doesn't launch right. I might as well step on the accelator pedal cause that works better. I think somwthing might me wrong with the tranny, not sure but it hasn't sliped in a while. You must have beat him by a good margin (300ZX) to be stoked about it. Well I don't see why not since the times are so similar or close to in comparison.

I would lower my tire pressure to 24-25 in the front, have about a 1/4 tank of gas, do a VERY short burnout, avoid the water and roll up. Then I would flash the torque converter. Just as the first yellow lights fades, mash the gas while holding the brake, at the third yellow light, release the brake. your Rpm's should be about 2200 or so, and this will flash your TC to let you get a higher stall launch. My 60' sucks, i'm around 2.4's as well, but my car seems to be a monster up top. Just manually shift, make sure you don't redline and you get MUCH faster.

And the Z isn't that great a kill I now realize after looking up its stats, i thoguht even the NA were much faster than that, but still, I can now say I beat a Z!

I got beat the other night by a turbo early 90s 300ZX, but not by much. It was fun anyway. Nice win.
