how easy would it be for me to hook this to me 97 stock bose system. will it even work

its possible but quite a bit of work since you'll have to bypass each individual amp at the speaker, unless you have something else in mind. I would suggest looking at the wiring schematic of the 97 max and the 00-01 max and go from there. Its possible if you have the know how to mess with electronics a bit.

it will not be a direct plug-n-play...but....if you have some knowledge in electronics, it is not that difficult to install as long as you have the schematics to follow. Personally, I would have no problem putting it in into another car but I just don't see the reason for it as you can easily set up an aftermarket amp and sub and have more control over specs and sound. This would be acheaper alternative though, I guess.
