As for the tapping sound some experience is it just when the car is moving or when it is idle can you get the effect. Because if someone can send me a video of the sound with the engine bay is open I might be able to come up with a solution. I think maybe strategically zip tying it may help immensely but because I have never been around a 5.5 Gen with the tapping problem with my kit I cannot tell what the problem may be.

You ever hear NmexMax's video of his injectors? It sounds like that. Doesnt do it while sitting at idle but the slightest throttle will make it tick. I could hear it driving down the street from inside the cabin. Gone while coasting at 750 RPM but any bit of throttle will make the noise. I mean any. 770 RPM, 800 RPM, anytime I gave it gas. Its not something rattling. Its something electronic. Sounds like injectors or something arcing.

Any pointers to solve these issues is very much appreciated.
Sorry for the 4 month bump, but I finally got my kit installed this past weekend. I got this same ticking but didnt think much of it because it was very slight. Then yesterday (Tuesday) after work, the ticking got a bit more noticeable. Then after driving for about 10-15 minutes, it developed almost a grinding/rattling noise whenever it went above 1700 rpm.

So my first thought was the grounding kit that i just installed. Since I didnt want to drive all the way home with that noise, i took off the intake manifold ground, timing chain cover gound, front engine ground, and disconnected the connection at the neg. battery terminal. When I started it up again, the ticking and noise was gone.

So did anyone ever figure out what was causing the problem? It seems from the previous posts that its just the intake manifold ground that is causing the problem. I will try reconnecting all of the other grounds except for that one to confirm that as well.

Is there another location to ground the intake manifold that may eliminate this?

I reconnected the grounding kit except for the wire show in the pic above. The ticking isnt there now so that one is again confirmed as the cuprit.

I also installed the alternator ground for the first time yesterday. I couldnt get the nut loose on the alternator ground bracket and I was afraid that I was going to break the bracket. So I connected it to the 12mm bolt that appears to mount the top of the alternator to the engine. Do you see any problems with that?

Thanks.

You can go that route I cannot see it being much less effective there but it certainly will not be as good as the recommended are either.

Bump for a great seller and great kit.
Installed mine and love it, have no ticking or any weird noise and everything is installed by the instructions.

Anybody with a 5.5 6 Speed MT install the starter ground to chassis? Looking at the starter it appears the only place thats safe to ground is from an 8mm philips head screw which is very difficult to get to with a screw driver. Are there any alternative locations on the starter? I know we do not want to ground to the battery + lead.
