We'll I finally got my wish (deathwish) to go head to head against the best in STS Sunday. Jason Frank and Craig Mankiewicz came down for our divisional event in their nationally prepped Honda '89 Civic.
After the morning runs I was 7% behind Jason and 3% behind Craig who like me couldn't put a strong run together even though many said it was a power type course. By afternoon I realized trophies were a pipedream and offered rides for struggling classmates. Last run I took solo but still only managed a tenth off my very first run of the day.
Both Jason & Craig kept improving throughout the afternoon leaving our local drivers in their wake. Craig increased his lead to 4sec over me while Jason dropped the hammer on his last run of the day to open a 5.5sec gap. He finished the day #1 of 177 on index against numerous national champions present.

This was my first dry conditions with the Bridgestone RE-01R's. Besides getting em too hot (160deg fronts), when I got home I noticed the rears had picked up everybody else's R-compound marbles out on course. Even with 60mi driving home here's how they look now. I'm open to advice about how to prevent this going forward.
