Manual climate control lighting...WOW!!!

I just tackeled the burned out bulbs behind my manual climate controls today. Man, this is a delicate task! If anybody ever did this before know what I'm talking about. You have to practically take the unit COMPLETELY apart to get to the bulbs. They are mounted on to a circuit board. Luckily, I bought extra bulbs from Nissan, because these are very delicate bulbs. I ended up breaking one trying to twist it in. The unit is practically a puzzle when putting it back together. I had trouble figuring how it went back together because the pieces just fell apart! But, now, I have lighting after two years! If anybody ever wants to tackle this, just be ready to have a lot of patience, because this takes some time and care!

Re: Manual climate control lighting...WOW!!!

Coincidence. I just took apart the manual climate control today too.

Hardest part was taking the fan speed **** off (this one has to come out first).

Then, you have to take off the riboon connector that connects the temp slider to the circuit board. Then, it's just a matter of unsnapping the circuit board tabs from the housing and slowly pulling it out.

If you don't pop the mode buttons off, you stand a better chance of having less parts fall out. If it does, not a problem, just put the parts back together.

Now, I wish I could get the bulbs swapped out with LEDS, and even change the mode select LEDs.

The bulbs, I'm going to guess run off 12 V, the LEDs I don't know though.

I'm not going to rush it, I just got the manual climate control unit today (bought an extra one off Ebay) so I can tinker with it. Yay!
