driveshafts same???
I almost ready for the 5-speed conversion, which I am doing Monday and I asked the dealer about diffrences in driveshafts. Hoping that only one was needed, he tells me that my auto driveshafts will work in the 97 5-speed. He said that one side is just an inch shorter and that it will work fine. Should I trust this or does anyone know for a fact that it wont work? Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, he's wrong. You'll need both new axles.
You should do yourself a favor and get new ones anyway

As for the dealer saying "one side is just an inch shorter than the other" he better double check on that. On my 97 5-spd the passenger side driveaxle is like 6-8" longer than the driver side driveaxle.
I second raxles. Marty is a good guy. His driveaxles are the best out there and the prices are reasonable. I paid $140 side.
