Years of Procrastinated Maintenance.

Ok so Ive had my maxima since about 2006-2007 and bought it as a shell to swap good parts from my totaled maxima into. Well over the years, the list of things requiring TLC or needing replaced all together has added up and I'd like to start fixing some of them. The car has over 300k miles on the body now and I got 464 hand calculated miles on my last full tank of gas, or about 30.5 miles per gallon. I paid cash for it, insurance is affordable, and its been reliable so I plan on keeping it and fixing some of the issues. Here's a few to get started

            Thanks,
            Matt

Not sure how doable it is, but once done you will probably experience more road noise coming into the cabin, and also develop more squeaks and rattles. My car right now has some squeaks in the trunk from the spot welds. I drench the area just above the rear shock towers with WD-40 and the sound disappears for a short while. Of course my car stinks for a little while too

You should be able to repair the lines. If not, Salvage or perhaps even a new replacement would be the second option. The salvage and new prices may be comparable now that the car is old.

Also, the 5th and 5.5 gen seats are not a straight swap.

And if you do go this route avoid 5th gen seats for their crappy vinyl inserts that have all deteriorated already. 5.5 seats are far superior. Can't speak for the difficulty level to get them in a 4th gen though.

ok so 5th gen seats avoided. Ill look for i35, 5.5 gen, or 350z. What should I expect to pay for 2 front seats?

Ill check out that permatex defroster line solution, thanks! and I really like the spare tire solution you linked.

Im not looking for more road noise, but am very interested in getting the folding seat back to work properly.

Also, I read that the seats aren't a direct swap and that swapping rails and stuff will be needed. Im OK with that.

            Thanks for the input!

I paid $400 for a full minty set of I35 heated seats. He wanted $300 for just the 2 fronts.
