Climate Control... easy question...

Hi folks, my Maxine recently got broken into and the sh|tsucker(s) all but destroyed my auto climate control trying to get my stereo out.

Well today I replaced it, and with the lights on, the 3 buttons on the left don't light up (the ones that say "Auto", "Econ", and "Off"), I can't remember if they're supposed to????

It's a '99 everyone.

Thanks for any input!

Thanks, man.

The controls work perfectly, every function does what it's supposed to, but just noticed that the buttons didn't light up.

They don't light up on my 97SE, I always wished they did. Maybe they're broke. Great, something else to fix. I never should have read this thread.

they should, replace the bulb behind. i did it on my 95, alot better now. your control unit looks a bit different but still, all buttons should be visible in dark.

Harder Question

I have two questions:

1. Does any one know how to change the display from Fahrenheit to Celsius? (Don't know if it is possible)...I can't work in Fahrenheit!

2. I took my console apart (completely) stripped out the auto climate control and saw the LCD had AMB in the LCD ...are there additional functions like ambient temperature that we can get? I always want to know what the outside temp is. The AMB is on the LCD. You can't see it unless it lights up or unless you remove the panel. in front of it. It never lighte up...as far as I know anyway!

This link seems to suggest that it can....it also serves as a gentle reminder of what fine machines we own!

Hehe

Just found threads that answer my question. it seems that 98-99 had this and not 97s. It's strange cos my climate control has the letters and I know I have the temp sensor. if anyone knows the answer to whether I can still do it, let me know!

If not, does anyone know if a 98-99 climate control would fit into a 97?

Thanks!

Fahrenheit to Celsius

Figured there should be a way to change the readout on the auto heater/ac temmperature unit. I checked the owners manual and the shop manual. Best I can research the USA model Max is in F and the Canada model is C. Can't find a procedure described to change the readout. There probably is a way to make the change but I can't find a reference on the procedure.
