Engine Wiring Harness Removal

Does the dash need to come out to replace the engine harness?

If not, any tips are appreciated.

No, but it sure makes it a lot easier. Really the hardest part is getting the weather seal 'plug' to seat in all the way on the new one. Honestly with as much of the dash area that has to come out to gain access to the harness it would only take an extra 10 minutes or so to remove the dash.

Thanks for the reply.

It took me 2.5 hours to pull the harness from a 100% stock junkyard car. Taking the dash out made getting the stock zip tied ecu harness out easier.. I broke off the evap box and bottom corner of the center HVAC box for room to push the harness out into the bay. The p/s rack shield was in the way and it was pretty tight pulling the harness through with the vq30de upper intake still on.

With a harness that isn't 20 degrees, I think I can get away without removing the dash to snake it back in. Even though it's not much more work.. The current engine harness in my car has been un-ziptied and pulled out from the center dash for like 10 years. So, getting that out will be easier. I might pull the passenger seat though.
