Did you feel a pretty big gain and was there a substantial sound difference?

Here's what a grade 8 bolt looks like.

I know now what the bees in a can sound like, but it's not bad actually I like it.

I have stock exhaust so it purrs now with a slight growl. Not obnoxiously loud at all imo.

A gain... yes. Big... not particularly, per the butt dyno.

Was it worth it? Yes.

If I had to do it today then I would go obx. If I could figure out how to get the rear fitment up from below the motor. It appears that one would need to loosen the rear motor mount...??

These fit in from the top because of the 3 bolt flanged bolted connection.

Nice, I like the quiet growl sound.

I think I may be doing this in the near future. DO you have any clips?

That sounds really, really good man. Not ricey or obnoxious at all!!!!

To be honest, at start up, it sounded like my LS1 SS when it was stock.

Good setup man! Thanks for the vid!

Thanks bro.

I can do another video almost anytime. My driver door was open in that clip.

Not to mention it's in the single digits outside right now.

Did you see the rpm needle jump? That one time it jumped and reminded me of my old big block.

Yea man, it's cold here too. It dipped into the upper 50's last night.

Maybe a drive by vid when it warms up.

I was thinking the same thing! It reminded me of my SS after it was built and it had a huge TB on it.

Good setup.

The clip doesn't do it justice.

What does your catback sound like? Post a clip.

YouTube

Here's another one for your critique. I think I need to do the weather strip mod!

End of clip tach jump.

I think it sounded good, with what I heard. I don't like the overly aggressive sound for these cars, yet alone any car.

Yea, Max, let's compare what yours sounds like.

Yea man, I really like that sound. It sounds aggressive, but not ricey or over the top.

I'm curious as to what Max's sounds like, if he thinks this sounds crappy.

I'm serious though, for the price, I don't think you can go wrong.

Thank you!

A T for Texas and a t for Tennessee!

I am sure that someone will bust my ball* though... waiting.

I would have installed just the warp y but it would not have fixed my max's 420 issue....

Eh, it's all about preference vs wallet vs interest. Find your equation and roll with it.

It's hard to compare a front pipe with different catback setup..

For my setup I will use a mandrel bent 2.5inch, with no cat and a good quality magnaflow exhaust, in about 2 weeks it should be done

Sounds great! Not ricey at all. Not overly loud, just a nice low tone. I'm going for it! I could care less about brand names, especially if the cheaper generic stuff works almost or just as good.

No remove the entire rear motor mount off the block....also grind the hell out of your Xmember, and possibly have a large gap between your ypipe and catalytic converter flange...

check out this system it's a tubing kit or you can have mufflers included it's your choice of 3 brands from MES or the biggest muffler (Magnaflow) you can fit. The front resonator (largest) muffler for a 2.5" tubing is Magnaflow p/n:10426, the largest rear muffler that can fit is Magnaflow p/n:12586...

I would if I were you get a secondary so you can have a good one on stand by if you ever wanted to De-mod the Maxima and sell it! It's a good 8hr job at least for a experienced Mechanic....

Does the obx v2 install without modifying the xmember? Just loosen the rear mm? Or remove the entire xmember and reinstall?

Some crossmembers need modification, some dont. I've personally experienced both. Remove entire crossmember, check fitment and install.

I installed V2 on a A33 (5th Gen) and the X-member had interference issues. So I pulled out the Die Grinder too Comply with the OBX standard! The rear flange was 1.5" too short as well which can be cure with extra 3/8" flanges and extra gaskets. example( 2) 3/8" -2 bolt flanges with (3) gaskets.....Oh yeah....had to diegrind rear engine mount as well....Oh yeah....and that misplaced rear manifold O2 sensor bung near the rack is unless just plug it and extend your harness or O2 sensor wiring! Lots of screw-up IMO...Cheap!!! Durability issues if not installed correctly!!! Hard to Install for the Newbie Mechanic!!!! Cattman fitment and durability out shine these all day!!!!! But it's a cheap alternative and if you can install it with no stress nor tension on it it might survive!!!!!

I put them on my car and they work fine. DO NOT USE THE ONES THEY COME WITH otherwise it will be a headache for you down the road like it was for me.

Buy gaskets from NAPA or Advance Autos, bring the ones they give you

I couldn't find gaskets that mated up with the flanges anywhere... Napa, advance, AutoZone, and all other local part stores. I found something close at a local muffler shop but ended up using the crush flange gaskets that came with the headers.

OEM Exhaust manifold gaskets are reuseable! They're MLS (Multi-Layer-Stainless) and are durable as hell and reuseable many times over..
