Should I use my car in extremely cold weather?

It is going to be -22 F and wind chill -60 F Sunday and Monday. Can I go work at Monday with my car or is better to not drive in such weather? Of course if car start and I properly warm up it.

I wouldn't see why not.... All depends on road conditions.... Block heater is a must it forget when antifreeze actually freezes but double check

I don't think it makes any difference what the wind chill is.

If it was me id warm it up and not take off till operating temp is close to normal, then if road conditions are good i dont see a problem. If ur antifreeze is good and thermostat and radiator and waterpump are working go for it

Dam where do you live..north pole?..i live in connecticut and it has been zero and -2 degrees for the last couple nights....what i do is start it twice a night...i go out at about 8 oclock and then again between 12 and 1 am and start it again and let it run fro ten mins or so..that way it keeps the battery alive too!

I'm in Minnepolis. From my experience temperatures lower then -20F are problem for cars. Tonight will be -26F.

Definitely let the car warm up completely, otherwise there is a probable near certainty of sludge formation.

i would see what it is without the windchill, last year in winter there was a day here that was -55c with a bit of wind (like -63f i think) and not many peoples cars were starting after sitting all day. my truck luckily barely started, but the clutch and brake pedal were like molasses. surprised i made it home

vehicles arent affected by windchill, but otherwise i would say if you can take the bus or some other way easily its better
