Poor gas mileage, heat issue and leaking oil

Please help if you can. My 97 max is drinking a lot of gas. Also I only have heat for 10 minutes then the air becomes cold. I see the engine is leaking oil and one day I seen blue smoke coming from the muffler. Please help

You could have several problems: drinking gas could be a bad or failing evaporator canister, typically accompanied by you smelling gas. If you see blue smoke it's more than likely burning oil as well. And finally, the cold air issue could be a bad thermostat. Check your radiator to see if you're losing any coolant also check the oil to see if its milky, which would indicate a blown head gasket.

Is the check engine light on? Does the check engine light works. Bad oxygen sensors can cause high gas consumption, but the check engine light should be on. Take the car to a parts store and ask them to read the codes.

The heat problem could be the thermostat, but it could also be that the engine is low on coolant. When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap. The radiator should be completely full, no air space. Add coolant if necessary and see what happens.

These motors burn oil at high mileage and leak too. Try bleeding you cooling system to get any air out of the heater core.
